Clifden Alpacas - YARRAGON, VIC
We breed stunning black huacaya alpacas and eye-catching Belted Galloway cattle on the slopes of the Strzelecki Ranges in beautiful West Gippsland. Clifden is also home to Archie the Black Alpaca - the loveable main character in our 2 children's storybooks Archie's Haircut & Archie's Big Win. The stories are wonderful read-aloud tales for young children and ideal also for beginner readers. In addition we stock a range of quality alpaca products, including undyed black Clifden fleece and yarn.
Self-contained farm-stay accommodation for up to 4 guests is available at Clifden Cottage. The fully renovated cottage with its picturesque views makes the perfect spot for rest and relaxation, and the chance to interact with the alpacas.

Our farmstay cottage:

Things to do:
With 70 acres of pasture and forest there are many
lovely long walks around our farm, with beautiful views
over the rolling hills of South Gippsland. Experience
the peace and tranquility of beautiful Alternative View
Alpacas.
Things to see:
As with any farm, there is plenty of cuteness all around.
Kids love visiting our geese, ducks, and chickens. Sit
and chat with our animals, or listen to the humming of
the bees in our orchard.
Take an alpaca for a walk:
Accompanied by a handler, lead an alpaca using a
halter. Take a short or long walk of approximately 2.5
km. Learn about their behaviour, interaction and what
makes them so unique.
Alpaca Walk and Farm Experience:
Experience a wonderful walk leading an alpaca
guided by Brigitte plus an enchanting farm
experience learning about natural methods of
permaculture. See how our fruit trees love alpaca
manure – happy free range chickens, geese and
ducks…and sometimes some newly hatched chicks!
The Alpaca Walk is for Adults and Children aged 15
or over. Children under 15 are more than welcome
and can walk with either an adult or Brigitte
